Day 11 - Post series for all the founders, leaders, and creatives, working on building their personal brand: PERSONAL BRAND x COMMUNICATION ⤵️
Today I'm answering a question: Is communication approach important for building a personal brand?
🔶 The way you communicate across all channels matters. But then again, not every communication method will be suitable for every channel or medium through which you output.
And optimising your approach can totally help you boost your personal brand strength and reach.
🔵 For example:
1️⃣ - through different platforms, you might be tapping into a different type of audience, and consequently, they will respond better to a different type of communication.
Let’s say you speak at a room full of entrepreneurs in finance - the way you communicate concepts and ideas to them will most likely be very different to addressing a room of students who are just stepping onto their career path.
2️⃣ - Different platforms favour different approaches.
Giving an interview in a scientific publication will most likely look very different to you recording informative content for Instagram and YouTube.
3️⃣ - know the “laws” of each output platform you use to communicate your ideas.
Whether that be your website, YouTube, interviews, podcasts, public appearances, or any other type of platform, you need to know the overall “rules” of how the content and audiences work on that platform.
I’m not saying that you need to completely adapt to the trends and discard your brand identity. What I AM saying is that you need to output, strategise, and “function” creatively in accordance with the ways that will be best perceived by the platform and the audience on there.
✅ With this, you will gain a much better audience acquisition rate, and you will make sure that each output is optimised and best serving the type of “average” user of the platform.
❓ What’s your take on it? Is communication approach important for building a personal brand?
❓ Do you just cross-post and recycle content without changing and shaping its structure depending on the platform?
❓ Or do you post according to specific “laws” and best practices for each platform?
