Okay, MUSIC ARTISTS, if you are building up your artist brand (or, if you are an individual shaping your personal brand) make sure to create a WEBSITE that becomes your ASSET! This is what I mean ⤵️

Today's question: Is a website important for my artist project?

There's a tendency for websites to get built up and then forgotten about.

And since we are right now in the process of redesigning a website for an artist I manage, Aiko, I decided to share a few insights and ideas.

🔵 A website can be a valuable asset that helps with the expansion of your brand and, consequently, your career.

Here's how:

1 - all paths meet here

(the key information about you, live shows/appearances, media features, about info, social links,... everything "meets" on the website. Think of it like your own personal community hub where your audiences can get all that they need and more)

2 - don't let it become a "passive storefront"

(think about the creative ideas, of how you can make it intriguing for your audience, how can you design it in a way that makes people want to stay and come back to the website?)

3 - don't think of a website like something you NEED to have; instead, think of it as something that is FUN TO HAVE

(similarly like how people enjoy spending time on social media and creating content, you can find ways to make your website suited to your needs and create fun, interactive outputs via it; and no - writing a blog is not the only option)

4 - what's your audience like, and how can you create a world for them to enjoy?

(ask your audience what kind of things they enjoy, what they want more of, how they wish to interact with you and use that to fuel your creative thinking; come up with new ideas of how you can shape a website that will be interactive and give people an insight into your world)

5 - go beyond the norms

(break the frames of the "known" and "done before". Think about the ideas of how you can make the website different, what can set it apart, what can make it fun and noticeable)

6 - know your objective

(above all, you need to know what's the purpose of building your website - is it audience expansion? Newsletter building? Credibility building? More sales? Are your audiences primarily visiting from a mobile or PC? Define the key goals and build accordingly - it also helps with generating aligned ideas)

So no, websites don't need to be passive and stagnant. The goal is to make it active and alive - just like any other aspects of your brand and career.

❓ The question is - how can you achieve that? How can you create momentum online and align all different touchpoints?

❓ How can your audiences experience the synergy of your brand across all channels and outputs?

❓So how would you answer the question - is a website important for my artist project?

What's your take on the website topic? Would love to hear your input on this.
